The Big Shamu challenges La Diva and the gang once again with the Dim Sum Sunday theme of PEEPS!
Darlings, honestly, La Diva had NO IDEA that people were so into peeps. Or that people made intricate peep dioramas for contests. Even though I took the challenge quite literally and didn't realize what exactly one was meant to do with the sugary-teeth-rotting treats, La Diva had fun with this! Click on Sham's image above to take you to the Karmic Kitchen to see all the entries!
CONTENT WARNING: Many Peeps and Bunnies were harmed in making this post. LEAVE NOW or ENJOY.
The La Diva Cucina test kitchen found that grilling is NOT the best way to prepare peeps! Do NOT try this at home!
Simple steps lead to simple pleasures! Microwave a peep for 15 seconds and serve with a spoon. Simple goodness.
Happy Spring, darlings!
MARVELOUS, sugar! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore the Deconstructed Peep. But I didn't see any indication of DJ Neva Late For Dinner's feelings on your creations? Did he enjoy them?
ReplyDeleteSham, I was going to put in hubby's comments but decided on a less verbose and simplistic post!
ReplyDeleteAt first, hubby was a bit confused seeing the PLT and salad. He actually ate the fried peeps with hot sauce. Of course anything fried is good.
Then I started going a bit crazy with ideas and after the deconstructed peep, he refused to photograph anymore and then ate all my peeps so I had nothing to work with!
Oh hai Savannah, thanks for popping 'round, darling!
ReplyDeletemost excellent peep post - my favourites The PLT (as Shamu would say - Snort !) and the Red Hot Buffalo Peeps - Hello ! ... oh and the deconstructed Peeps ...oh hell I liked them all. Fantastic effort and great photos !! +10 from the Canadian judge.
ReplyDeleteOh my GOD!!!! This is so funny! Buffalo peeps! The Peeptini! The PLT! OMG. Hail Diva. Love this. Love.it.
ReplyDeleteOh my god the first one, where you're grilling the peeps. That one bunny is like the bunny version of Mr. Bill from the old SNL. I just noticed. ROFL
ReplyDeleteand ....
ReplyDeletewould that be teeny fish eggs ?
tasty ??
Could not resist borrowing friend's computer out here on the river to check up on Peep Fest. Snorted so loud at this (and Shamy's) that my friend asked if anything was wrong.
ReplyDeleteEntirely too funny. All were terrific, but you were right to leave deconstructed peeps for last. Happy DSS!
Eggy
the deconstructed peep was brilliant and a fine satire on the foodie boutique world. i loved also the PLT and the martini. you deserve an A+ for all these set ups. happy easter.
ReplyDeleteYou did GOOD Diva! Love the girlie drink with the pink peep! So springish.
ReplyDeletexoxo
I think you're on to something with the Buffalo Peeps (who knew they had wings?). I'm glad I wasn't the only one tormenting these little balls of sugary goodness. Superb effort.
ReplyDeleteHappy DSS!
I'm embarrassed to say that I've never had one! The drink looks pink and frothy!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, thanks for stopping by and your nice comments! Shame your peeps never came. :(
ReplyDeleteI posted this on FB yesterday and some people took me seriously about the PLT! haha!
MS: I know, Mr. Bill was what I had in mind! hehe...
Eggy, we are silly, aren't we? Any excuse....
Chickory, thanks, not everyone "gets" the deconstructed peeps but I that was the first idea I had! haha!
Dani and Jill, I didn't waste real booze on the drink, it would be too sweet for La Diva fo sho!
Buzzy, that's why I was laughing so hard when I saw your post, I'd already "been there and done that!" I like the peep in the bowl cuz it blew up in the microwave and then melted down into that, face kind of intact and creepy!
I'm with the others, the deconstructed Peep is brilliant and I love the blude sugar and those dots (eyes?) along the plate. Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteMy second has to be that drink...... hmmmmmm.
I'll have a Peep cocktail please and make it a double.
ReplyDeleteDYING, here!!! Absolutely love it - you maniac mama, you!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Perfect.....pass the Vodka Mary!
